Mixmaster Throwdown (also known as MMTD) is an event promotions company, promoting fun events at Chicagoland’s greatest nightclub venues. We promote some of the most legendary parties in the Chicago area and surrounding suburbs! Because of our unique approach to throwing great parties with the perfect atmosphere, entertainment, and awesome drink specials, we’ve become the midwest experts on Chicago-area partying. As such, many of the nation’s top industry leaders have worked with us as partners in hundreds of events throughout the past few years. And who can blame them? Definition of Promoting

In our realm, a promoter is a person or company which is hired by the nightclub venue to “promote” an event (whether it’s a one-time-thing or a weekly party). This means that it’s the promoter’s job to create, coordinate, and distribute information about the event in any means possible… including word-of-mouth, emails, flyers, message boards, websites, and more. Sometimes, the promoter will arrange drink specials or book exclusive entertainment attractions. It is also the promoter’s job to execute the event efficiently, being sure that staff are in place, DJ’s are providing music, equipment is working properly, and the crowd is on the way… Most importantly, a promoter ensures that everyone has a great time!

An MMTD History Lesson

Created by legendary B96 Mixmaster Dan Morrell (then DJ Smurf) in 1997, The Mixmaster Throwdown “College Club Tour” brought exciting parties to clubs throughout Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, and Wisconsin. Since then, much has changed. The College Club Tour branched off into its own company, DJ Smurf became known as The Mixmaster Dan Morrell, and the Mixmaster Throwdown entity began focusing entirely on parties and events in Chicagoland. Now, with over 125,000 members, Mixmaster Throwdown has grown to become one of midwest’s most respected nightclub promotion companies.
