To socialites in Chicagoland, the Mixmaster Throwdown name is synonymous with Tuesday night-life. For the last 6 years at their former Tuesday night venue, Dakota’s in Schaumburg, a loyal following has collectively consumed an estimated 650,000 of the ever-popular $3 drinks.
Unfortunately, Dakota’s is no longer open for business. However, Mixmaster Throwdown’s quest to be the ONLY nightlife promotions company in history responsible for 1,000,000 drinks served on a TUESDAY night continues at the brand new “Mixmaster Room” located inside of the Hennessy’s Steak & Seafood 18,000sq ft. complex.
The weekly event kicks off on Tuesday March 17th, when MMTD will commemorate St. Patty’s Day with a special performance from the eye-catching, Chicago Shamrox’s Hotrox dance team. Well drinks and bottles of beer will be on sale for only $2, until they close at 3am.
Dan Morrell, also heard weekends on Chicago’s WBBM-FM, will be hosting a weekly live B96 broadcast Tuesdays from 10pm – 2am and a live web cast hosted on www.mixmasterthrowdown.com. Those fortunate enough to attend in person, will be treated to the Mixmaster Throwdown brand of entertainment provided by their DJ team, as well as celebrity guest djs and hosts.
According to Dan Morrell, Mixmaster Throwdown’s owner, “The layout of the Hennessy building allows us to more flexibility for booking talent and entertaining our guests. Expect to see more live performances from bigger named artists in the coming months.”
Located just north of I90 on Randall Road in Elgin, IL., the building is a multi-functional environment and combines large open dining areas with bars and clubs on both floors. Unique to the second floor, is an area with flexible spectator seating, band stage and dance floor. Weather permitting, guests can also enjoy 3 outside patios with a beautiful fountain view.
